pDiveLog Frequently Asked Questions

The software seems to download the profile data from the Aladin OK, but when it completes (after the donwload information scroll bar is complete) I get the error "Error while downloading dive data".
This error is caused when there's some data corruption during the data download. The Aladin dive computer provides a checksum at the end of the transmission and pDiveLog checks this when it has received all the data to ensure it was received correctly. This is often caused when there is salt on the Aladin or if the Aladin is wet, and it also happens on a PC under these circumstances. It may happen more often on the PDA as the voltages on the COM ports of the PDA are probably lower (and they can probably supply less power).

Some I can't enter data into some of the boxes in the edit screen. e.g. Boat name, weight, etc.
These aren't currently available since the dive is saved in the Uwatec DataTrak file format which doesn't support these fields. I intend to support these in future by using a custom file format.
